School of Business.
FCEE-Católica is the leader in Portugal’s executive education market,
offering more than 40 open-enrolment programs, and 25 in-company programs
to more than 1000 executives annually in Portuguese and international
organizations. The 2007 Financial Times Executive Education Survey ranked
FCEE-Católica’s executive education programs as 42nd best in the world and
19th best in Europe, the first time a Portuguese university has entered
the FT rankings of business schools.
FCEE is com¬mitted to the creation and dissemination of knowledge through
rigorous research, to intellectual leadership in developing outstanding

offering business leaders a lifelong learning environment. We pursue our

original research, service to the Portuguese community, and the promotion
of Christian principles of ethical behaviour.
Building on our current strengths - intimate size, research emphasis,
faculty pedigree, unmatched contacts in the business community, and state-
of-the-art facility – we are confident that FCEE will become recognized as
one of Europe’s outstanding business schools, while maintaining our unique
leadership position in Portuguese business education.
FACULTY AND RESEARCH ENVIRONMENT
The core research faculty consists of 30 tenure-track members, with
doctorates from top institutions, including MIT, NYU, UCLA, Chicago,
Columbia, Michigan, etc.. New assistant professors include nationals of
France, Ukraine, Canada, Hungary, Colombia, and Moldovia. Tenure-track

FCEE-Católica provides a vibrant research environment. The school was
recently recognized (by the European Economic Association) as the leading
Portuguese institution in terms of publications per faculty member. In
addition, the school has this year launched a PhD in Technological Change
and Entrepreneurship in partnership with Carnegie Mellon University and
the Technical University of Lisbon. This programme has accepted its first
cohort of seven students, who will take courses and conduct research in
both Lisbon and Pittsburgh, and will receive doctoral degrees from both
the Portuguese partner institutions and Carnegie Mellon University.
A priority for FCEE-Catolica is the further internationalization of its
faculty, student population, and programs. The school has been recently
accredited by the UK-based Association of MBA’s (AMBA) and received EQUIS
accreditation from the European Foundation for Management Development
(EFMD). The accreditation process for AACSB International is expected to
be completed in 2007. In addition, about 15 faculty members from non-
