Immediately prior to this year's academy, there will be the 2nd annual Workshop for Chinese Scholars in Strategic Management. Last year's workshop in Atlanta was very favorably received. The purpose of this workshop is to learn how to become a dedicated and effective researcher and teacher. Professor Ming-Jer Chen will give a one-and-a-half day seminar. The workshop will be held in a seminar room at the University of Pennsylvania. The program can be found at http://faculty.darden.virginia.edu/chenm/index.htm . Before making further arrangements, we would like to know how many people will attend. Based on the design of the program and our hope for close interactions between attendees, we would like to make the following recommendations:
First, we would like all attendees to have full commitment to the program and will attend all the sessions.
Second, our plan is to offer this program every year. We believe this program will be the most helpful for junior faculties or Ph.D students that have already defended their dissertation proposal.
Finally, we welcome people from non-strategy field as well. However, please be aware that most of the cases and readings were selected from the strategy field.
We will come back with more details as the time for academy approaches. We look forward to hearing from you.
