  • 1.  Decision making and strategy implementation

    Hi,
I am considering to develop a graduate course about decision making and strategy.
While I acknowledge that there are various decision making courses that stress psychological biases and group dynamics, I want to include more strategy implementation issues. For example, from a perspective of implementation, decision making is just a beginning, not an end. Also, making one decision influences other decisions/resource allocations within an organization (e.g., Langley et al., 1995).

I appreciate any suggestions including syllabi, articles, cases, and books. I am also happy to share the suggestions with those who are interested in this topic.

    Thank you for your help!

    Katsu

Hi Katsu – the new textbook 'Strategic Management Dynamics' coming soon from Wiley has a strong implementation and 'steering strategy' theme, and a specific chapter on the dynamics of policy and decision-making. That particular chapter will be finalised in the next 2-3 weeks, but you can see an outline and get inspection copies of earlier chapters at www.wiley.com/go/smd.
