The Department is internationally oriented, and belongs to the European top in terms of strategy research output and impact.
International oriented Department
The Department consists of about 40 teachers/researchers, amongst which are ten PhD candidates. The Department has excellent contacts with (multinational) businesses and has a number of internationally renowned Professors. Education and research are focusing on strategic management, internatioal business, corporate entrepreneurship, cooperation and competition between companies and strategic renewal of large established companies.
Research
The Department participates in the Erasmus Research Institute of Management (ERIM). The <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:placename w:st="on">Erasmus</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Strategic</st1:placename> <st1:placename w:st="on">Renewal</st1:placename> <st1:placetype w:st="on">Center</st1:placetype></st1:place> of the Department is performing pioneering research in the area of among others strategic renewal of companies, ambidexterity, corporate entrepreneurship, non-technological determinants of innovation. Researchers of the Department are participating in important international research projects.
Teaching
Because of its managerial and strategic approach in research and teaching, the Department plays an important role in the major teaching programs of the Rotterdam School of Management. The Department participates in among others the International MSc BA Program, the MScBA Program, ERIM PhD Courses, MBA Programs and Executive Courses.
Job requirements
The following criteria at least need to be met: a University Degree in Business Administration, or comparable education, PhD in Business Administration or related scientific discipline or a PhD in prospect in the not too distant future, scientific capacities which are expressed in publications in international journals, and/or teaching experience.
