We trust you had a fabulous summer break and are ready for the Fall
term! Before you get swamped with your fall activities, please take a
moment to consider submitting a paper for the 2007 Academy of
International Business Midwest Conference, March 28-30, to be held at
the Drake Hotel in Chicago, IL. Also, please encourage your student(s)
to submit a paper for the Student Track. The deadline for submission of
papers is October 23, 2006. Details of the conference and Call for
Papers are posted at
http://www.aib-midwest.utoledo.edu/.
On behalf of the AIB-Midwest Conference Planning Committee, we are very
pleased to inform you that our (renamed) Journal of International
Business Research and Practice has been accepted for listing in Cabell
Publication 2007! Papers accepted for presentation at the AIB-Midwest
Conference and revised as per reviewers' (double-blind review process)
comments will be published in the Journal. We are also pleased to
inform you that Crown Publishing has agreed to publish the Journal. My
heart-felt thanks to the officers who worked so hard to successfully get
the Cabell listing and also successfully negotiated for an agreement
with Crown Publishing. Our special thanks to Dr. Chen Ferguson for
representing the AIB-U.S. Midwest Chapter at the recent AIB Conference
in Beijing, China. Resulting from her presentation of our activities,
our Chapter was specifically commended and recognized for outstanding
progress and achievements! WE ARE MOVING FORWARD!
For this year, we are implementing a recommendation from the Chapter
membership (that resulted from our Annual Meeting in Chicago in March
2005): the creation of TRACK THEMES AND TRACK CHAIRS (as detailed in the
CALL FOR PAPERS on the web page). Please submit your paper by October
23, 2006.
