    The R.H. Smith School of Business invites applications for two endowed chaired positions: (1) the Smith Chair in Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management and (2) the Smith Chair in Strategic Management, with the appointment effective as of September, 2007. Preference will be given to applications or nominations received prior to December 1, 2006.  These two (2) new endowed chaired positions are reserved for prominent national and international research leaders in the more "micro" areas of the <st1:placetype u1:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename u1:st="on">Management</st1:placename> such as Organizational Behavior (OB) and Human Resource Management (HRM) and in the more "macro" areas of the <st1:place u1:st="on"><st1:placetype u1:st="on">Academy</st1:placetype> of <st1:placename u1:st="on">Management</st1:placename></st1:place> such as Strategy, OT, and Entrepreneurship. Research leaders who work at the intersection of these areas are also welcome.  In addition to academic excellence and an outstanding research record, the candidate should possess the leadership capabilities required to help shape the intellectual agenda within the business school. Criteria for evaluating applicants include: (a) an exemplary and outstanding record of research demonstrating innovation and thought leadership, (b) a consistent record of publications in top-tier journals with a pipeline indicating this record will be sustained, (c) ability to define and lead research programs, particularly in collaboration with other faculty and doctoral students, (d) enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of the department and the professional growth of its early- and mid-career faculty, (e) willingness to define and participate in school-wide initiatives and evidence of collegiality and (f) Evidence of teaching excellence including top placements of doctoral students.
