    About University, College, and Department

The University of Florida (UF) is a major, public, comprehensive, land-grant, research university. The state's oldest, largest and most comprehensive university, UF is among the nation's most academically diverse public universities. UF has a long history of established programs in international education, research, and service. It is one of only 17 public, land-grant universities that belongs to the Association of American Universities (AAU).

The Warrington College of Business is one of the most research productive business schools in the world. The departments enjoy colleagial relationships; all are relatively small and well-resourced. The College is in the midst of a $112 million (over $100 million of which has been raised) capital campaign which will be used for facilities, professorships, and research support. Currently, based on a $60 million gift, the business school is building the Hough Graduate School in Business, which will provide "signature" classroom and program space for the college's graduate (including MBA) programs. The dean of the business school, John Kraft, dean for 20 years, is a popular and effective dean both within and outside the college. Kraft has served as recent president of AACSB International. The Warrington College of Business' graduate and undergraduate programs are nationally ranked. Particularly highly ranked are its distance learning and executive education programs, the return on investment from its degrees, and the research productivity of its departments.

For the past 10 years, the Department of Management has been one of the world's most active in terms of productivity in top-tier management journals (the department maintains a list of eight top-tier management journals, which are [in alphabetical order]: Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Administrative Science Quarterly, Journal of Applied Psychology, Organization Science, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Personnel Psychology, and Strategic Management Journal). The department consists of three areas: organizational behavior (Amir Erez, Jeffery LePine, Jason Colquitt, Timothy Judge, John Kammeyer-Mueller), strategic management (Wei Shen, Srikanth Parachuri, Gwendolyn Lee, Henry Tosi), and business law (Virginia Maurer, Robert Emerson, Robert Thomas, Larry DiMatteo). Its PhD program includes a diverse group of 12 students who, cumulatively, have published more than a dozen articles in top-tier management journals. Recent PhD graduates are employed at some of the nation's leading research universities, including Cornell University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Michigan State University, Purdue University, and the University of Arizona.
