More on YouTube in the strategy classroom -- airline alliances

    Thanks Mason, Xin et al.

Some more on the air-alliances, especially for those wanting to discuss inter-alliance competition in class:

    Oneworld's 10-year anniversary video:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zt_UBD78DrY&feature=related
[note how much less slick it is than the Star Alliance video]

The Skyteam video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQv-r_POO8g&feature=related emphasizes intra-alliance caring and consistency (which, in my experience, is lacking).

I also attach a brief article "Delta, SkyTeam Ready $1 Billion JAL Deal, Rivaling American Air" commenting on a new level of alliance-competition -- namely, equity stakes of alliances in some members. In this case, "Sky Team" are offering to invest in JAL to lure them from the "One World." Attachments sometimes do not arrive via e-lists, so feel free to e-mail me [dmb@bgu.ac.il] for a copy or search Bloomberg.com (published Nov 17).

    best
    David

    Dear Mason,

How have you been? Thanks for putting together of all these wonderful
clips. Here is a video on Star Alliances in the airline industry that
I sometimes show in the alliance class.

Hope all is well in Madison!
