BPS Teaching Toolkit and other Strategy Teaching Resources

    Colleagues,

As you get ready for the start of classes I wanted to remind you about the free teaching resources on  http://research3.bus.wisc.edu/course/view.php?id=139#section-3 (apologies for the awkward address!).  Many of you have helped me build this toolkit, and the most recent addition is a section on YouTube and other video resources that you can tie into a class session on strategy, eship, or international business.  For the videos alone you can just go to http://www.youtube.com/user/TheStrategyprof (though this only has those on YouTube, and none of the print resources related to particular videos).

For instance, on the teaching tool site you'll find an article on J&D's Foods, the start-up that introduced the world to Bacon Salt with $5000 in bootstrap financing from an America's Funniest Video prize.  To gain traction, and get around the entry barriers created by the existing distribution channel and food companies, the founders "friended" everyone on Facebook who listed "I love bacon" as a characteristic.  The videos accompanying the article are both instructive and humorous.

As always, I welcome contributions to the teaching toolkit – resources and video links.   Happy New Year!
