    Assistant Professor of Management

     

    Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in management strategy at the rank of Assistant Professor. Applicants should have a demonstrated interest in strategy research and teaching.  A secondary interest in teaching and research in human resource management is preferred.  Either an earned Ph.D. or expected completion by August, 2011, is required in management or a related business field. The appointment involves teaching both in the MBA-program, and at the undergraduate level. 

     

    Position Available: September 1, 2011.

    Faculty Position Announcement:

    Washington State University, Tri-Cities and the College of Business invite
    applications for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Management
    with a specialty in Strategy and/or Entrepreneurship. This position, at
    the Assistant or Associate Professor level, will begin August 16, 2010.

    Job Description:
    One full-time, tenure-track faculty position in Management, with special
    interest in Strategy and Entrepreneurship, at the Assistant/Associate
    Professor level is available Fall semester 2010 at Washington State
    University, Tri-Cities. The responsibilities of this position include
    academic research, teaching, and service. Courses taught include:
    principles of management and organization, and business strategy and
    policy at the undergraduate level; and strategy formulation and
    organizational design at the masters’ level. The normal teaching load is
    two courses per semester. Full description of this position is available

    Columbia River Basin in southeastern Washington. The three communities,
    Richland, Kennewick and Pasco, have a combined population of 200,000,
    large enough to offer many of the amenities of a big city, but small

    Tri-Cities campus serves around 1,200 students (250 students in the
    business program). Many of the students in the Tri-Cities are employed
    full time, and most classes are held in the evening. The WSU College of

    Job Requirements:
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    Candidates must have 1) a PhD (ABD acceptable if degree completed by
    August 16, 2010) in Management or closely related field (Strategy and/or
    Entrepreneurship) from a nationally or internationally recognized
    university; 2) a demonstrated record of published research or research
    potential; and 3) evidence of teaching effectiveness with one or more
    courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels in the areas of
    management or strategy.
    Preferred candidate will demonstrate 1) interest in technology
    commercialization and entrepreneurship; 2) research interests synergistic
    with current faculty; and 3) demonstrated knowledge of and/or relevant
    ability working with diverse populations. Applicants should provide a
