Future Directions in Meta-Analytic Research
12:30pm - 2:30pm, Saturday, August 13th at La Quinta Inn & Suites: Crockett East
Moderator:
T Russell Crook, Tennessee
Participants:
James G Combs, Alabama
Dan R. Dalton, Indiana
Philip L. Roth, Clemson
David J Woehr, UNC-Charlotte
The workshop includes a panel discussion involving panelists' thoughts on the key issues, challenges, and future research in meta-analysis – from micro and from macro orientations. The panelists will discuss topics such as: (1) estimating effect sizes with incomplete data, (2) approaches to moderator analysis, (3) dealing with dependent effect sizes, (4) higher order analyses with meta-analytic data, and (5) dealing with thorny measurement issues. The panelists will then answer questions from attendees, followed by a breakout session. The breakout session will involve attendees and panelists. Attendees are encouraged to bring 'one pagers' with a main effect and moderator models. The panelists will help them devise coding schemes and talk them through testing their models.
