Senior Managing Director, Design Profile Summary:
Location: Proximity to NYC, northeast corridor
Function: This person will lead the creation of our staff learning and development offerings by developing the strategy and tools needed across the organization. This role requires really heavy design skills, and the ability to set the vision for a team
Skills/Motivations: Incredibly strategic mind (will be shaping the vision for this entire team and spending time wrestling with theories and making them come to life). Enjoys working through stuff, hammering it out, as opposed to external interaction on an everyday basis (will be doing a lot of content creation)
Background: Academia (MBA programs, someone who knows management curriculum), Strategy Consulting (able to do the translation piece of bringing something to life for managers)
Pitfallls: We are not looking people with broad organizational effectiveness work experience (this role is far more narrow in scope), nor are we seeking niche adult learning experts (i.e. created trainings for sales forces or technical trainings), this tends to be folks who haven't built from the ground up and they really struggle with the theory behind what they are creating
