    SHORT DESCRIPTION SUMMARIZING POSITION FUNCTIONS
    The School of Labor and Employment Relations has a vacant faculty position in Human Resource Management or Employment Relations. We are interested in candidates who have teaching and research interests industrial relations, strategy, strategic HR, employment policy, sociology, or other areas where organizations and workplace institutions are a major research interest. This is a full-time tenure-track or tenured position that combines research with teaching in the School’s master’s and PhD programs in human resources and employment relations. The School is an academic unit that concentrates on research and teaching in the HR-ER fields. For more information, please see our website at http://www.ler.illinois.edu/.

    SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Conduct original, high quality scholarly research for publication in leading academic journals
    • Teach in the School’s master’s and PhD programs
    • Participate on School-wide service committees

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    Applicants must have a Ph.D. in an appropriate social science discipline or professional area of study (e.g., JD); however, ABDs who demonstrate a strong potential for conducting exemplary research and teaching and anticipate Ph.D. completion no later than August 2015 will be considered.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
    Advanced Degree (PhD)

    SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with experience and rank

    APPOINTMENT STATUS: Regular, 100% time, tenure-track faculty appointment (assistant professor) or tenured faculty appointment (associate professor or full professor)

    PROPOSED STARTING DATE: Proposed starting date is August 16, 2015
