Strategy and Entrepreneurship Cases on SSRN

    Colleagues,

I'm hoping I can encourage you to post your cases (the ones you have written) to SSRN in an effort to provide broader access to this rich material.  The site is found at www.ssrn.com.

Over the  last couple of years I have been experimenting with including strategy and entrepreneurship cases that I've written (alone, or with colleagues like Gerry Sanders and Cindy Devers) on SSRN.  I think that it is a little known fact that you can do this, and that there are a number of categories under eJournal classifications on SSRN that you can designate for your case (in addition to all those classifications you can designate for research working papers and accepted research papers on SSRN).   Access to these publications is free and membership is free.  It is relatively easy to post your work there.

For some schools, scholarly impact is gauged by factors including "web-hits" or downloads, and SSRN lets you track this and report the popularity and usage of the cases you post there.  It also publishes a quarterly "top-ten" listing of the most viewed and downloaded papers in each category – including cases.  You retain copyright on your work, though others can use your cases without paying a fee.

I will continue to post more, but in the meantime here are some examples:

If you've written a case that you have found effective in class and are willing to share them with our strategy and entrepreneurship community, I encourage you to post it on SSRN.  If you are in a situation where this helps you track and demonstrate your contributions to the field then that would simply be an added bonus.

    Cheers, Mason
