Please consider volunteering as a BPS division rep for AoM's new "adopt a new member" program. With the continued growth and internationalization of the membership, the Academy recognizes the need to innovate new ways to welcome new members. The "adopt a new member" initiative is designed to respond to this need. Volunteers from each division will serve as mentors to new members at the 2010 annual meeting. The experienced members will contact the new members via e-mail (details will be provided by Jimmy Le), welcome them to our division, offer them guidance in organizing their visit to the 2010 annual meeting, and arrange to meet face-to-face on Friday or Saturday of this year's annual meeting - for example at the "Meet BPS reception" on Saturday evening. The intention is to facilitate the visit of the new members at the conference especially since many find their first time attending to be quite overwhelming.

If you are interested in getting involved in the program please click on the following link, where you will be asked for information needed for matching volunteers with new members: http://www.zoomerang.com/Survey/WEB22AKWFCY4MU.

As you know, BPS is one of the largest division at the Academy. As such, new members sometimes face difficulties finding an entry point that helps them to quickly feel connected and get involved in the division's activities. As a mentor to a new member you will be performing an important service to the division, and will also have the opportunity to extend your own network and to take a fresh look at all that the AoM meeting has to offer through the eyes of a new member. Thank you in advance, and see you in Montreal!

    Best Wishes,
