    My colleague will be presenting on the effectiveness of a graphic novel textbook I have co-authored appropriate for strategic management, principles of management, organizational behavior, and entrepreneurship classes. Both books are available from the publisher, Flat World Knowledge, who will be represented as a conference exhibitor.

    The series has received a coverage on blogs at Publishers Weekly, BusinessWeek, and the Wall Street Journal. Chapter 1 of the first book is posted at http://www.flatworldknowledge.com/node/15264 if you want to
    preview our work, and Chapter 6 of the second book is also available for your viewing at http://www.flatworldknowledge.com/node/128047

    MED: A Graphic Novel Approach to Teaching Strategic Management

    Author: Brandon Randolph-Seng; Texas Tech U.;
    Author: Jeremy Collin Short; Texas Tech U.;

    Effectively teaching an undergraduate strategic management course can be challenging because of the need to clearly integrate management theory and practice. The purpose of the current paper is to provide initial evidence
    of a graphic novel approach that seems to help successfully meet this challenge. This narrative approach was built around the graphic novel Atlas Black: Managing to Succeed which follows the fictitious reality-based story of a college student who starts his own business. Student course feedback suggests that the graphic novel approach was generally successful at helping students to meaningfully integrate management theory with practice.
