Dear Peter - I am working on a case that might possibly meet your needs, although it is not yet perfected, as I see it. It will be presented to NACRA (the North American Case Research Association) the end of October.
The case is about a non-profit-The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and its rather new CEO. In the past, the symphony was running huge deficits, which they covered by raiding the endowment. The case covers what was done to change the way of doing things, and is about the results thereof. My wife and I field researched this case.
If you'd like to see it, in its present form, I'd be happy to send it on; bear in mind that it has not yet been presented and subjected to the comments of those in attendance at NACRA.
When does your course start, and where during that course do you plan to assign this topic?
By the way, I have learned that another colleague (Ven Sriram) did recently send a letter of recommendation for your expected positions. If I were chosen, I would expect that she (my wife) would assist in some of my case research. She is a free-lance writer, and retired from the Baltimore Sun after many years as reporter, editor, copy editor, etc.
And I would be happy to travel to Sydney so that you may better understand what I have been doing and would do, and how I might fit into your school.
Sincerely,
Tim Edlund
