the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, Germany, is please to announce its
4th Conference on the Economics of Innovation and Patenting on May 19-20, 2011.
We encourage theoretical, empirical and policy-oriented contributions on knowledge generation and diffusion, impacts of innovation, financing of innovation, and strategic issues of patents and patent policy.
It is a great pleasure for us to welcome Ben Martin, Frank T. Rothaermel, Mark Schankerman, Paula Stephan as invited speakers. The call for papers is attached to this e-mail as a PDF-file. The deadline for submission of extended abstracts or full papers is Februar 28, 2011.

CISS Competition and Innovation Summer School 2011, Turunç/Marmaris (Turkey), May 23-28, 2011
Applications for the "COMPETITION AND INNOVATION SUMMER SCHOOL (CISS) 2011" - which is jointly organized by K.U.Leuven, ZEW Mannheim and the STRIKE/COST network - can still be submitted.
The school will take place in Turunç/Marmaris (Turkey), from May 23rd, 2011 until May 28th, 2011.
CISS offers lectures and workshops on
- current topics of entrepreneurship
- the economics of science and intellectual property rights
- empirical competition analysis
- contemporary issues in theories of industrial organization
- patent knowledge
We hope that this summer school will be of interest to many young researchers.
