    The Department of Management at San Diego State University (SDSU) invites nominations and applications for two tenure-track positions, one in Strategy and one in Ethics/Corporate Governance, at the assistant professor level for Fall 2014.  An active research agenda and teaching capabilities at both the undergraduate and graduate level are required. Applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in strategic management, ethics/corporate governance, or business administration by August 2014.  Applicants with equivalent degrees in other disciplines with relevant teaching and research may also apply.     Candidates should be comfortable with community and university outreach efforts that could include student internships, undergraduate and graduate research, mentoring student teams, and supervising experiential learning activities. Ethics/Corporate Governance candidates should also be prepared to support the Corporate Governance Institute (see http://sdsu.edu/corpgov); the ideal candidate will also have finance or markets acumen.

     

    SDSU values both quality teaching and quality scholarship. Applicants should be able to employ technology and a variety of effective pedagogies including collaborative learning, integrative sub-disciplines, and interactive discussions.  Applicants should be able to work with students from diverse cultural backgrounds.

     

    The College of Business Administration enrolls approximately 4,000 undergraduate business majors and over 500 graduate students pursuing both the MBA and Master of Science degrees.  The Management Department offers undergraduate specializations in management, human resource management and entrepreneurship and graduate specializations in management and entrepreneurship. The Department of Management enrolls approximately 1,500 undergraduate and 50 graduate student majors. The Management faculty includes thirteen tenure-track faculty members, six emeritus professors, and several part-time lecturers.     The position is available starting August 2014. Consideration of applicants will begin immediately and will be reviewed on an ongoing basis until the position is filled.
