The Department of Business Administration invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Strategic Management beginning September 2013. Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Strategy or a related field or anticipate completing their degree on or before September 1, 2013. Candidates who have several years of experience in rank as an Assistant Professor are especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated record of publication in top management journals (e.g., SMJ, AMJ, AMR, JIBS), be pursuing a nationally visible research program, and have evidence of highly effective teaching in both graduate and undergraduate courses. The primary teaching responsibility will be courses in strategic management at the undergraduate, MBA and/or executive education levels.
The University of Delaware is located on an attractive campus in Newark, Delaware, is roughly an hour from Philadelphia and Baltimore, and just over two hours from New York City and Washington, D.C.
The University of Delaware is a well-endowed, private institution with selective admissions resulting in a student body of more than 17,000 undergraduate and 3,500 graduate students. The Department of Business Administration is part of the Alfred Lerner College of Business and Economics, which serves approximately 2,800 undergraduate majors and more than 600 graduate students. The Lerner College supports a full- and part-time on-campus MBA program in addition non-degree executive education programs. All degree programs are fully accredited by the AACSB.
The college is housed in a two-building complex with state-of-the-art computing and teaching facilities. There is excellent support for research, including a one-semester third-year research sabbatical, laboratory facilities, on-line library and database resources, and college and university research grants.
