BPS Division Professional Development Workshop (PDW) Program, August
    8-10, 2008
Academy of Management Conference, Anaheim, California

Looking forward to seeing Mickey in Anaheim? Be sure to make room in
your schedule for this year’s BPS PDW sessions. The 2008 BPS PDW
program begins on Friday, August 8 at 1:00 PM and concludes at 2:30 PM
on Sunday, August 10. We hope this year’s research attractions spark
your interest and bear fruitful research connections. The attached
Summary Table groups all BPS-sponsored PDWs into 9 broad tracks to
assist you in navigating the program and developing your personal PDW
schedule. Session details and abstracts by track can be found at:
www.bpsdiv.org. Keeping with the interactive intent of the AOM’s
pre-conference activities, the program includes several paper
development/feedback sessions. For instance, an innovative session
specifically aimed at reaching out to our growing global membership,
“Fostering Publication in Leading Organization & Strategy
Journals”, is slated for Sunday morning. This year also was a
banner year for methods focused PDW submissions - see the track on
Research Methods for more details. If you are seeking ways to invigorate
your classes, check out the Teaching Track for novel ideas. Other
highlights include research focused sessions on resources and
capabilities, knowledge and collaboration, networks, offshoring,
outsourcing, and entrepreneurship, to name a few.

Please note that many PDWs require pre-registration; refer to the
online program for PDW registration details as requirements vary by
session. Address any questions regarding a specific PDW to the workshop
organizer(s) or chairs. Also, the times and locations of some sessions
may change, so be sure to check the final online program. Many thanks in
advance to all PDW organizers and participants - I look forward to a
    fabulous PDW program!
