2013 BPS Division Mid-Career Consortium: Managing Your Evolving Career
The Business Policy and Strategy Division will once again sponsor a Mid-Career Consortium for the 2013 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management. The Mid-Career Consortium is for BPS faculty members who completed their dissertation before August, 2007 and have at least five years of academic experience. The objective of the workshop is to facilitate networking and discussion around the unique professional challenges, problems and opportunities facing BPS faculty moving into their "Associate Professor Years." Some of the topics to be discussed include taking on editorial roles, sabbaticals, executive education, changing universities, launching a new research stream, and working with doctoral students. The presentations and discussions were followed by dinner and further conversations at a local restaurant.
The 2013 BPS Mid-Career Consortia will be held Saturday, August 10 from 6:00-8:30 pm. Panelists include Tima Bansal (University of Western Ontario,Canada), Jean-Philippe Bonardi (HEC University of Lausanne, Switzerland), Duane Ireland (Texas A&M University), Rita McGrath (Columbia University), and Jeff Reuer (Purdue University).
The 2013 Consortium is co-chaired by Annette L. Ranft (University of Tennessee) and Amy Hillman (Arizona State University). Interested participants should forward cover email and vita to Annette at aranft@utk.edu or Amy at amy.hillman@asu.edu by July 1, 2013. Space is limited.
