    Dear colleagues,

I am writing to invite you to participate in the following Symposium that Jorge Tarzijan and I are organizing at the AoM:

Opportunities and Challenges when Managing Multiple Business Models in One Organization

Tuesday, Aug 8 2017 9:45AM - 11:15AM at Hyatt Regency Atlanta in Regency Ballroom V

Many organizations operate multiple business models concurrently. Yet, we know little about the opportunities and challenges when managing a business model portfolio in one organization. In this symposium we have assembled one theoretical and one empirical paper that address the opportunities of managing a business model portfolio for diversified firms. Another theoretical paper and a simulation explore the challenges presented by portfolio management within a single organization, including dealing with complexity and interdependencies within the business model portfolio.

Please check http://my.aom.org/Program2017/SessionDetails.aspx?sid=11015 for further details.

The lead faculty involved in this symposium include: Tomy Laamanen (University of St. Gallen) and Chris Tucci (EPFL).

We will begin with presentations of four papers dealing with opportunities and challenges of managing multiple business models in one organization to inspire the audience, and will continue with a highly interactive discussion facilitated by the lead faculty.
