Dear colleagues,With profound sadness I share news I've just heard that Bill Guth, our dear colleague and friend, passed away. Just a few short months ago, we were able to convene a special reception and seminar to celebrate Bill as he was recognized by the Academy of Management with the prestigious Chris Argyris award. At that time, we had an opportunity to reflect on how critical Bill was to the founding of the modern academic field of strategy. He was so proud of the way so many of you have taken up his torch and helped to build and strengthen the field.Bill had a long career, full of accomplishments in every domain. He was an innovative scholar, a great teacher (including leading ISP right up until a month or so ago), a beloved mentor, and a valued colleague. I truly can't imagine Stern without him.We will let you know when we learn anything further, such as funeral or memorial service. Best regards,Batia
