I just received the below book information that seems like it might be of interest to those of us who are brazen enough to look at higher education with a mind to strategic possibilities.
Best regards,

By Mario Martinez, University of Nevada, Las Vegas and Mimi Wolverton
http://131.216.52.149/coe_faculty/edl/2008.php?faculty_id=73&action=description
The purpose of this book is to offer higher education leaders, scholars, consultants, and observers a full range of tools for strategy development that can be applied to higher education. New concepts and tools are introduced to give a comprehensive view of strategy making beyond strategic planning in higher education. The value of the concepts and tools is illustrated for different types of institutions (universities, community colleges, for-profit colleges) and for different levels within institutions (institutional, college, department). Guidance is provided for the appropriate uses of the various tools. Strategy making is examined within the contemporary context of political, economic, demographic, and global realities.
