The Syrian civil began in March of 2011, and since then more than 6.3 million Syrians have fled the country. According to Mercy Corps, there are approximately 68 million displace people around the world and approximately 2/3 of these are from the following 5 countries: Syria, Afghanistan, South Sudan, Myanmar, and Somalia. In addition, according to UN figures, approximately 2.3 Venezuelans have fled their country in the last 2 years due to a severe economic problems resulting in starvation and health problems.

  • 2.  Reminder of the deadline for submitting an abstract to the Research Topic: "Cross-Cultural and Intercultural Dimensions of Creativity in the Workplace"

    Posted 12-10-2018 16:15

Dear Moderator, please, share this friendly reminder with BPS-NET members.

Dear Colleagues,  this is a friendly reminder of the upcoming deadline for submitting an abstract to the Research Topic: "Cross-Cultural and Intercultural Dimensions of Creativity in the Workplace", published by Frontiers in Psychology and Frontiers in Communication.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is 3 January 2019.

The special issue of the Journal is (guest) edited by Prof. Marta Sinclair, from Griffith University, Australia, Prof Lisa Min Tang, from University of Applied Management, Germany, and Prof. Fabrizio Maimone, from LUMSA University, Italy.

The Research Topic aims to shed light on the influence of culture on creativity in the workplace. The concept of creativity at work is generally associated to the generation of novel ideas and outcomes that are consistent with the achievement of one or few goals. Creativity does not exist in vacuum. It relies on culture to take its form in terms of how it is perceived, expressed or evaluated. Organizational creativity may be influenced by multiple factors. It is also an adaptive/transformation process that drives organizational change. Although effects of culture on individuals' creativity, teams, organizations and institutions have started attracting more attention, research in this respect is sporadic and does not reflect the global nature of today's business.

It is plausible to argue that the relationship between culture and creativity in the workplace, which has widely been recognized as a critical issue, seems to be still overlooked. There is an emerging need to provide systematic and accurate frameworks on the cross-cultural and intercultural dimensions of creativity in the workplace.

This Research Topic aims to fill this gap by profiling the current conceptual and empirical research on two main levels: 1. The relationship between cultural diversity and organizational creativity; 2. The role of intercultural relationships in facilitating or obstructing creativity in the workplace.

Please take a look at https://www.frontiersin.org/research-topics/9082/cross-cultural-and-intercultural-dimensions-of-creativity-in-the-workplace to find more info about the Research Topic and the call for papers.

Frontiers adopts an open access policy. Therefore, authors are asked to pay a fee for publishing their manuscript. Many universities and research institutions have signed an agreement with Frontiers and/or adopt open access publication policies and provide funds for open access publishing.

Moreover, Frontiers provides direct support for funding. Please, take a look at the following link, to have more info about funding opportunities:  https://www.frontiersin.org/about/publishing-fees#institutionalagreements

Don't hesitate to contact me for every question or info you may need.

    Best Regards
