This preconference writing workshop is organized by the Corporate Strategy
and Governance IG of the SMS and will be held on Sunday, Oct. 11 at 10am
during the SMS conference in Washington DC.
Panel Participants: Bryan Boyd, Mason Carpenter, Robert Hoskisson, William
Q. Judge, Gerry McNamara, Gerry Sanders, Margarethe Wiersema, and Robert M.
Wiseman (session chair).
Requirements for Participation: First, you must be registered for the SMS
conference. Second, only complete manuscripts which are NOT co-authored by
senior faculty (i.e., tenured faculty) will be accepted. Third, manuscripts
related to corporate strategy or corporate governance will be given
preference over manuscripts dealing with other areas. Since space is
limited, submissions will be accepted on a first-come first-served basis.
Submission of your manuscripts: Go to the SMS Washington Conference Web
page and select "Program Schedule" and then click on Interest Group Session
I. Then click on Writing Workshop of Doctoral Students and Junior Faculty
under the Track F listing. This takes you to the description of the
workshop. At the bottom of this description you will see a button Submit
Manuscript. Clicking on that takes you to a submission box where you can
upload Word doc files (no docx please) or PDF files.
Make sure your submission includes a title page with all authors and their
affiliations listed.
Style Guidelines: While we have no strict style guidelines, we encourage
you to use the style guide lines outlined for submission of manuscripts to
the Strategic Management Journal.
Deadline for Submissions: The deadline for submitting a manuscript will be
August 15, 2009.
