    Job Posting Title: Assistant/Associate Strategic Management Professor

     

    The Management Department in the School of Business at the University of Connecticut invites

    applications for a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor to begin in Fall

    2017.

     

    The University of Connecticut (UConn) is entering a transformational period of growth supported by

    of these initiatives, we are pleased to continue these investments by inviting applications for faculty

    positions in the Management Department.

     

    The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to scholarship through publication in premier

    management journals, participate in prominent national and international academic conferences, and

    help guide research efforts in their areas of expertise. In addition to research, individuals will be

    expected to teach appropriate courses at the undergraduate, master's, and/or Ph.D. levels, including

    the supervision of Ph.D. students, and participate in outreach and service activities. Successful

    candidates will share a deep commitment to effective instruction. Successful candidates will also be

    expected to assist the University in its efforts to broaden participation among members of underrepresented

    groups; demonstrate through their research, teaching, and/or public engagement the

    richness of diversity in the learning experience; integrate multicultural experiences into relevant course

    content; contribute to the development of pedagogical techniques designed to meet the needs of

    diverse learning styles and intellectual interests.

     

    Minimum Qualifications:

    For Assistant Professor Rank: Completed Ph.D. in management or related field, or expected

    by August 23, 2017. Equivalent foreign degrees are acceptable.

    For Associate Professor Rank: Completed Ph.D. in management or related field and a record

    of scholarly productivity that would support appointment to the rank of tenured Associate of

    Management (with developing national reputation), including publications in premier

    management journals, and a research pipeline to support sustained scholarly contributions.

    Publications, or potential to publish, in premier management journals.

    Demonstrated teaching excellence in higher education.

    A deep commitment to promoting diversity through their academic and research programs.

    Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated collegiality.

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    A research agenda and teaching experience that complements department needs.

    Evidence of pipeline for excellence in research.

    Experience in undergraduate and MBA teaching.

    Ability to contribute through research, teaching and/or service and community engagement

    to the diversity and excellence of the department's mission.

    Demonstrated interest in training doctoral students.

     

    Appointment Terms:

    The position is a full-time, 9-month appointment with a start date of August 23, 2017. Rank, eligibility

    for tenure, and compensation package will be commensurate with background, qualifications, and

    experience. The successful candidate's primary appointment will be at the Storrs campus with the

    possibility of work at UConn's regional campuses across the state.
