Assistant Professor of Business Strategy
Florida Gulf Coast University's Lutgert College of Business invites applications from individuals interested in joining our dynamic and growing Management Department faculty beginning August, 2009. Successful candidates will exhibit strong scholarship and service activities with demonstrated teaching experience in business strategy with secondary emphasis preferred in ethics.
ABDs and earned Doctorates in Strategic Management or related fields from an AACSB or similarly accredited business school preferred.
Desired qualifications include a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels; well-developed teamwork and communication skills; and experience in the development of instructional materials, including alternative delivery methods. The successful candidate will develop and sustain a program of disseminated research. Evidence of capability to publish in refereed outlets is expected.
Opening in 1997, Florida Gulf Coast University is part of the eleven member state university system. Located in Southwest Florida, the university has over 10,000 students with an expected enrollment of approximately 15,000 students within the next four years. FGCU is recognized as a leading, regional comprehensive university.
The Lutgert College of Business is accredited by AACSB and is dedicated to quality education, research, and service. All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers, responsive to changing business and professional needs, committed to innovative delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning; committed to effective use of technology including distance learning, and value continued scholarship and service to the school and university. The Management Department has eleven full-time faculty and has concentrations in Human Resource Management, Entrepreneurship, and Sports Management.
Salary is AACSB competitive and commensurate with academic preparation and experience.
