    Dear colleagues,

I am writing to cordially invite you to the following showcase symposium that Eric Knight, Jane Lê, Matthias Wenzel, and I are co-organizing at the AOM 2018:

Theorizing Process Research: Perspectives in Conversation

    Program Session: 1028 | Submission: 11484 | Sponsor(s): (SAP, OMT, STR)
    Scheduled: Monday, Aug 13 2018 9:45AM - 11:15AM at Swissôtel Chicago in Vevey 2

While process studies have become an important part of organization and management research, the term "process" is still perceived as ambiguous and leads to confusion as to what is and what is not a process theory. The proposed panel symposium aims to add clarity to this debate by bringing together and spurring a conversation among the following five distinguished scholars in this area

    ·       Raghu Garud, Pennsylvania State University
    ·       Paula Jarzabkowski, City University London
    ·       Ann Langley, HEC Montréal
    ·       Haridimos Tsoukas, University of Cyprus / University of Warwick
    ·       Andrew van de Ven, University of Minnesota

In the course of this panel symposium we will offer insights into (i) the most important contemporary issue in process studies, (ii) what constitutes a process study, and (iii) future opportunities and challenges. We will conclude the panel symposium with an audience Q&A.

We are looking forward to seeing you in Chicago,

    best,

    Sarah

    (on behalf of all organizers)
