Description
The Department of Management invites applications for the Robert Wang Chair for Excellence and Associate Professor of Management, effective Fall 2019, pending available funding. Candidates who have specializations in strategic management, international business, entrepreneurship, and/or strategic international human resource management will be considered. Responsibilities include effectively teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting doctoral seminars, mentoring doctoral students and faculty, maintaining a strong research program, seeking external research funding, building connections with the business and academic community, and fulfilling professional and University service duties. The department has 18 full-time faculty members, including four new assistant professors starting Fall 2019, and over 500 management and international business majors. Qualifications
Applicants should have an earned doctorate in management from an AACSB-accredited institution. The successful candidate will have (a) an outstanding research record as demonstrated by publications in leading management journals such as Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Discoveries, Academy of Management Perspectives, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Management, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Organization Science, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Journal of Business Venturing, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Strategic Organization; (b) an interest in teaching doctoral seminars; (c) the capability to mentor doctoral students and faculty; (d) demonstrated experience in obtaining external research funding and the ability to provide leadership in obtaining external funding; (e) the desire and ability to build connections with the business and academic community; and (f) professional experience appropriate to this senior appointment.
