    INSTRUCTOR

    Position: The Department of Management in the Fogelman College of Business & Economics at the University of Memphis is seeking qualified applicants for two (2) instructor positions for the 2015-2016 academic year, beginning August 17, 2015. Each is a one-year (nine-month), non-tenure track appointment that is renewable for up to two additional years depending on one's job performance. Hiring is contingent on final budget approval. The instructors will teach primarily at the main University of Memphis campus.

     

    Responsibilities: Effectively deliver instruction in a variety of undergraduate management courses; evaluating student learning; participating in related department activities; advising students; and complying with all Department, College, and University regulations.  Instructors normally teach four 3-credit courses per semester. For the first position (posting FAECC384, position 016252, application deadline Tue May 19), the instructor will be responsible for teaching on-ground and/or on-line sections of undergraduate courses in management such as MGMT 3110 Organizations & Management (principles), MGMT 3812 Managing Employee Wellness, MGMT 4461 Managerial Leadership, and other undergraduate management courses as needed. For the second position (posting FAECC370, position 007898, application deadline Fri May 15), the instructor will be responsible for teaching on-ground and/or on-line sections of undergraduate courses in management such as MGMT 4240 Compensation & Performance Appraisal, MGMT 4251 Employee Relations, MGMT 4710 Strategic Management, and other undergraduate management courses as needed.

     

    Qualifications: A Ph.D. in management or closely –related discipline from an AACSB-accredited school of business is strongly desired (ABDs will be considered). The minimum education requirement is an MBA. College teaching experience is required, and on-line teaching experience is desired. Relevant professional experience, certification, and engagement in activities sufficient to qualify as Instructional Practitioner (IP) under existing business accreditation guidelines are desired.

    College and Department: The Fogelman College of Business & Economics has become a leading business school in the Southeast. The academic programs of the College are fully accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). The College's full-time faculty of 96 serves approximately 3,100 students, with nearly 2,450 undergraduates, 550 master's students, and 75 doctoral students. The Department of Management includes 18 full-time faculty members.
