If you are interested in exploring how augmenting or reinventing our current model of bounded rationality will impact organizational research, please join us for this highly interactive PDW. In this workshop, established and emerging scholars actively engaged in this research stream will critically examine the traditional bounded rationality assumption in organizational research, exploring its value in our organizational theories, examining how it may be augmented, and questioning whether it should be replaced with a different model. They will first present an argument for why bounded rationality analysis is important in organizational research, an overview of the current assumption in some of our major theories, critiques and suggested augmentations of the current model, and an alternative to the bounded rationality model. An interactive panel discussion will follow the presentations, in which the panelists will address audience questions, as well as prepared questions about advancing the model of man in organizational research. Finally, session participants can ask additional questions, discuss their individual projects and concerns, and receive feedback from PDW panelists in roundtable discussions.
