Job Announcement for Positions in HRM, Strategy, Business & Society, and
Operations Management at Baruch College
The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch College of the City University of
New York (CUNY) invites applications for tenure-track faculty positions in
Human Resource Management, Strategy, Business & Society, and Operations
Management. Rank is at the Assistant or Associate level, and the start
date is August 2013. To be considered for an AOM interview in Boston,
applicants should submit materials to by July 19, 2012. Following the AOM
meetings, applications will continue to be accepted until the position is
filled.
Job Requirements: 1) Candidates for the HRM position should have a PhD in
Human Resource Management or a related field, and should be prepared to
teach HR foundation courses as well as electives (e.g., selection,
compensation, organization development, training & development) in the
BBA, MBA, MSILR, and Ph.D. programs. Preference will be given to
candidates who have applied HR experience. 2) Candidates for the Strategy
position should have a PhD in strategic management or a related field, and
should be prepared to support core business policy and strategy courses
within the MBA and BBA programs as well as electives in sustainability,
technology management, international management, or industry dynamics. 3)
Candidates for the Business & Society position should have a PhD in
Business and Society or a related field. Candidates should be prepared to
teach Business and Society in the MBA and BBA programs as well as courses
in strategy, sustainability, or globalization. 4) Candidates for the
Operations Management position should have a PhD in Operations Management,
Management Science, MIS, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or
related fields. Candidates are expected to build and expand the
department’s growing service operations focus, and help develop a business
analytics program at the MBA and undergraduate levels. Candidates should
also be prepared to support core service operations courses within the
general MBA and BBA programs, as well as the specialty courses for the
service operations majors.
For all positions, an interest in sustainability is a plus. Candidates
should have a track record of teaching excellence as well as an interest
in developing innovative curricula and online/hybrid courses. Candidates
for the Associate position should have an excellent record of publishing
in top-tier journals; junior applicants are expected to show significant
potential for scholarship and a coherent research agenda.
The Department of Management has 35 full-time faculty and 45 part-time
members. It is comprised of four discipline areas: Organizational
Behavior/Human Resource Management, Operations Management, Strategic
Management, and Entrepreneurship. We offer management concentrations at
the bachelor’s and master’s levels in OB/HRM, OM, Sustainability, and
Entrepreneurship, as well as a doctoral program in Management and
Organization.
