    Position and Qualifications
The Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas is pleased to announce that we are continuing the search for an exciting position. The Walton College of Business invites applications and nominations for the inaugural chair holder of the John H. Tyson Chair in Faith and Spirituality in the Workplace. Preferred candidates will have a graduate degree in a field appropriate for the Chair’s mission and the ideal candidate will have a Ph.D., a record in relevant research and significant teaching, and professional experience in the subject area.

The Walton College of Business seeks an individual with significant experience in teaching and outreach activities in areas related to the inclusion of faith, spirituality and religion in the workplace. Because this is a relatively new area of study, we will also consider individuals with experience in related areas such as the impact of theology on work, social responsibility, and business ethics. Regardless of the field, candidates must have recently engaged in active teaching and outreach programs that examine the relevance of faith and spirituality in organizations.

We seek an individual who is experienced in teaching in the domain of faith and spirituality in the workplace or related areas. The chair holder will be invited to develop courses that help students understand the challenges and rewards associated with integrating religious identity and diversity in the workplace. In addition to developing a curriculum in this area, the individual should be capable of developing outreach programs on issues related to faith and spirituality in the workplace that will be offered to interested groups including businesses, churches and civic organizations. The Tyson Chair will also have the funding to provide leadership on activities that extend the discussion of spirituality and work beyond the classroom through a visiting speaker series. The chair holder will also be expected to either engage in academic research examining issues of faith and spirituality in the workplace, or develop programs to support such research.

Sam M. Walton College of Business
The Walton College has approximately 3,500 students (3,200 undergraduate and 300 graduate students) and is ranked #24 among public four year institutions, according to the current U.S. News & World Report ranking. The Walton College features a collegial faculty with a distinguished record of scholarship that also excels at teaching and outreach. Our faculty provide support to the Walton College’s integrated business curriculum, to numerous Centers and Institutes, to Masters programs (MBA, Master of Accountancy, Master of Information Systems, Master of Economics), and to our doctoral programs.

Northwest Arkansas is home to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.; J.B. Hunt Transportation Services, Inc.; and Tyson Foods, Inc. Many Fortune 500 companies have offices in the area. Department of Management

The Bryan School of Business & Economics at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the position of department head of the Department of Management.  Additionally, the department head will hold a full-time, tenured faculty appointment at the rank of professor.  The position may commence as early as July 1, 2012, but shall remain open until filled.

Applicants must hold a PhD/DBA degree with a specialization in some area of Human Resources, International Business, Organizational Behavior, or Strategy, although those with related degrees may be considered based on the candidate's research and teaching experience. Within their particular discipline we are open on the candidate's teaching and research interests.  A demonstrated interest in hands-on student projects is a plus, as is the ability to tie one's teaching and research to key elements of our mission: innovation, globalization, sustainability, and ethics.  Related business experience is preferred, as is administrative experience and evidence of contracts and grants.  Full-time teaching experience and evidence of successful refereed journal scholarship appropriate to appointment at the rank of professor in one's discipline, are required.

In addition to leading the Department, the selected faculty member will teach two courses during the academic year and engage in appropriate service.  Additionally, research, especially that leading to publication in high quality refereed journals, is expected and supported.  The salary will be competitive and commensurate with the candidate's experience.

Department of Management: Currently part of the Department of Business Administration, this new department will consist of Human Resources, International Business, Organizational Behavior, Strategy, and the service area of Business Law.  The Department offers undergraduate majors, and contributes in meaningful ways to the delivery of the MBA program.  It has no graduate degrees of its own, which represents an opportunity for the new Department Head.  Consisting of 13 faculty members and more than 900 students, the Department has an exceptional opportunity to build a new identity and national and international reputation.  There are many exceptionally active faculty members who have published in such journals as Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Applied Psychology, Journal of Business Ethics, Journal of International Business Studies, and Strategic Management Journal, among others.

The Bryan School of Business & Economics has over 3,000 undergraduate and graduate students and more than 100 full- and part-time faculty members housed in six departments.  Accredited in both business and accounting by AACSB, the Bryan School is the recipient of many honors and accolades.  Our evening MBA was ranked 12th nationally in academic quality by Bloomberg Businessweek (2011), and 22nd across all dimensions among public universities.  Our students perform well in national competitions and have won numerous awards and our faculty members are active in scholarly research.  More information may be found at the following URL: http://bryanschool.uncg.edu/positions/.

UNCG, one of the sixteen campuses in the University of North Carolina system, is engaged in a major campus expansion.  Classified as a high research activity university, UNCG is also committed to high quality teaching to its more than 18,000 students in six colleges and professional schools.  Another point of pride is that UNCG has the most ethnically and racially diverse student population in the UNC system.

Greensboro is the third largest city in NC with about 270,000 people in a MSA of about 1.6 million.  Located in the Piedmont Triad region of central North Carolina, with our own cultural and outdoor amenities, we are only a few hours from both the beach and mountains.  With seven higher education institutions in the immediate area, a large industrial and technology base, and proximity to the Research Triangle, we are an attractive location for dual career families.

Screening of Applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.  To apply, please submit a letter of interest, C.V., and the names, addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses of three references, via email, to Management Department Head Search Committee, at gmssearch@uncg.edu.

For interested applicants, Professors Moses Acquaah, Holly Buttner and Riikka Sarala, faculty from the Department of Management, will be available to meet during the Academy of Management meetings. Email addresses are: M_Acquaa@uncg.edu, EHButtne@uncg.edu & RMSarala@uncg.edu.  Please contact one of us ahead to schedule a meeting.
