Dear listserv subscribers,
As announced a few days ago, the BPS/STR listserv that has served and informed all of you for so many years is transitioning to the new Connect@AOM platform. For those of you who are members of the STR division, you will be automatically enrolled in the STR Community Discussion and content that used to come to you from BPSnet will now come from Connect @AOM.
The STR division remains committed to allowing all scholars interested in strategic management to not only receive but also post content for distribution to the list, subject to the usual moderation system. AOM members who are not members of our Division can join the STR Community via http://aom.org/aomconnect/ after April 22.
However, if you are not a member of the STR division but are a member of other divisions, we encourage you to do something better yet: Join STR! The extra cost, for members who have already chosen the two "free" divisions that come with membership, is a modest USD 11 per year to enjoy all the benefits of STR membership. It is free to add STR as your second division! See http://aom.org/FAQs/Membership/How-do-I-change-or-add-an-additional-division-or-interest-group-to-my-profile-.aspx for information about how to add STR to your membership.
If you are not a member of AOM, we very much want to keep you informed too. To stay abreast of the developments in strategic management, including the exciting program for the upcoming annual conference in Boston, or other exciting events like the Special Conference on Responsible Leadership in Rising Economies that will be held in Slovenia in October 2019 (see https://www.eiseverywhere.com/website/894/, deadline: April 30), we hope that you will join our Division. Please visit http://aom.org/Member-Services/Benefits-and-Services.aspx, and if you join the AOM, make sure to choose STR as one of the divisions that comes with your paid membership. Otherwise, access to our Community Discussion will remain possible upon creating a basic account at https://aom.org/iMIS/Members/CreateAccount.aspx.
Once the STR Community Discussion is launched, all existing members of the STR division will be automatically enrolled as members of the STR Community with the notifications set to the daily digest format. If you like receiving real-time updates, you will need to change your notification settings. Please note that in this new system each user is able to join or leave the community or change settings. We cannot do that for you.
In addition to the listserv-like Community Discussion, Connect@AOM allows other useful functions about which you will receive information in subsequent messages.
Sincerely,
Scott Johnson, STR Listserv/Community Discussion moderator
Paolo Aversa, STR Communications Director
Xavier Martin, STR Division Chair

Subject: The BPS/STR Listserv is Moving to Connect@AOM!
Dear BPS-NET Listserv Subscribers,
Thank you for your participation in the Academy of Management's Strategic Management (STR) Division (previously Business Policy and Strategy (BPS)) listserv.
As a part of our ongoing efforts to enhance technology and communication resources for AOM members, this list will be moving from the current listserv platform to a new and improved online community platform, Connect@AOM. This change will help the STR Division to streamline communications to members, enable more dynamic member collaboration and interaction, and allow for the creation of a new resource library and central calendar of events for the division. Please click here to learn more about the features of Connect@AOM: http://aom.org/aomconnect/
On April 22, 2019 the archives and existing discussions from this list will be migrated to the new community platform in a seamless transition. Once the migration is complete, this list will be closed.
If you are a current STR member, you will be included automatically in the new community.
If you are not a current STR member, you are invited to continue participating in the STR Community Discussion after it migrates to Connect@AOM. Instructions for how to join the community will be included in future communications to this listserv once the new community page is "live." To ensure immediate access to the new community, please consider joining the Academy of Management, and select STR as one of your divisions. If you are not a member of AOM, you can learn more about the benefits here: http://aom.org/Member-Services/Benefits-and-Services.aspx
Please be on the lookout for further communications when the new community is live.
Thank You,
AOM HQ Staff
