    The Department of Management at Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accepting applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the area of Strategic Management.  The appointment begins in August 2011.  Teaching responsibilities include the capstone undergraduate and graduate strategic management courses, as well as opportunities to teach in secondary areas such as business ethics, international management, entrepreneurship, analytical methods, and organizational behavior.  On-going scholarly activity and publication in peer-reviewed journals is expected.


    Western Michigan University's Haworth College of Business is accredited by AACSB, and is one of the largest undergraduate business schools in the country with over 4500 students.  There are several opportunities for new faculty to conduct cross-disciplinary research, as well as contribute to one of our centers of excellence (i.e.: Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and Innovation, Center for Sustainable Business Practices, the Global Business Center).  The Kalamazoo/Southwest Michigan area is home to many Fortune 500 companies, such as Kellogg, Stryker, Herman Miller, Steelcase, Whirlpool, Eaton, and Pfizer, as well as two nationally recognized hospitals, providing ample opportunities to partner with firms in a variety of industries.

     

    Qualified applicants will have a PhD in Strategic Management, completed by August 2011, and experience teaching in the Strategic Management area.  Applicants should also have a strong potential for success in scholarly research.  Review of applications will start on October 15, 2010 and will continue until the position is filled.
