This year's "Simulation in Organization Theory" PDW is devoted to helping scholars at an early stage in the development of a simulation project think about how they might want to approach the project, frame the question and organize and present their findings before they get too far down the road. The workshop is not aimed at those with little or no simulation experience, since it is not a 'how to' programming workshop but rather at those who know how to write simulations but want help in making their work more accessible, publishable, and influential. Participant's projects will be divided up between the members of the panel to form groups of four similarly themed submissions. Before the meeting, all the papers in each group will be circulated to all other participants with submissions in that group. At the meeting, each of the panelists will host a round table with the author of the four papers in his or her group. Participants are urged to read in advance of the meeting the other submissions that will be discussed at their table.

    Prospective participants should provide:
    • a 3-5 page description of the project they would like to discuss at the workshop
    • an abstract of about 100 words
    • a contact email address

Participants are expected to read the three other papers that will also be discussed at their round table. These will be emailed two weeks before the start of the conference and come prepared to comment on each of them.

Pre-registration is required for this workshop. To register online, please visit https://secure.aomonline.org/PDWReg. Please send the requested material (paper and abstract) to the workshop organizer, Simon Rodan (simon.rodan@sjsu.edu). You will be sent an approval code if your submission is accepted (we are limited to 40 places). The deadline to register online is July 15, 2010.
