    *Tenure and Tenure-track Positions in Strategic Management and Organization*

    The Strategic Management and Organization Department at the Carlson
    School of Management, University of Minnesota, seeks candidates for two
    full-time, tenure-track faculty positions, starting in Fall 2010.

    * For one position we seek a candidate who will teach strategy
    electives such as industry analysis.
    * For the other position we seek a candidate who will teach
    entrepreneurship, innovation or technology management.

    /Provided that they can effectively teach these courses, we are open to
    candidates conducting high quality research in many topical areas and
    with many research approaches./

    Appointments are sought at the Assistant or the Associate level (which
    could be tenured or untenured). Candidates at the Assistant Professor
    level must be ABD or have completed a doctorate and must demonstrate a
    strong commitment to high quality research and teaching. Candidates at
    the Associate Professor level must have a demonstrated track record of
    successful research and teaching.

    The Strategic Management and Organization Department is ranked
    nationally in research and consists of /Stuart Albert, Alison

    Maitland, Alfred Marcus, Mary Nichols, Harry Sapienza, Pri Shah,

    de Ven, Aks Zaheer, Sri Zaheer, Shaker Zahra, and Mary Zellmer-Bruhn/.
    The department includes scholars with a variety of interests and
    backgrounds, and embraces many research approaches with a keen focus on
    quality scholarship. Several department members are active in the
    profession, as editors or on the editorial boards of major journals. To

    The Carlson School is located in a vigorous business community. The area
    features the headquarters of more than 20 Fortune 500 firms and a number
    of the world’s largest private companies. There are healthy clusters of
    firms in high tech, medical devices, food and agriculture, and financial
    services, among others. Members of the faculty have easy access to local
    companies to pursue their research projects.

    The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul are rated among the best
    metropolitan areas to live, highly regarded for their thriving arts,
    music, and theater. The building in which the Carlson School is located
    has won accolades for its design and has been expanded with a large new
    center for undergraduate instruction. The University of Minnesota itself
    is highly ranked nationally for research and several department faculty
    maintain close ties with other departments, including Sociology,
    Economics, Psychology, and the Humphrey School of Public Policy.
