Is there life after tenure? Come find out at the BPS Mid-Career Workshop
    (session #251).

The BPS Division will again sponsor a workshop designed specifically
for “mid-career” BPS faculty. The objective is to facilitate networking
and stimulate lively and useful discussion centered on the unique
challenges, problems and opportunities often experienced by BPS faculty as
they move into and through their "associate professor years." This highly
interactive and informative workshop will be organized around a series of
point-counterpoint debates and discussions lead by BPS “senior” faculty
about a variety of important mid-career topics, such as: Keeping your
research energized, mentoring doctoral students, taking on administrative
and service roles, mid-career moves and the job market, taking on
editorial roles, making the most of your sabbatical, non-traditional
career paths, and so on. .

This year’s line up of distinguished BPS “senior” faculty panelist and
discussion leaders are: Anil Gupta (Maryland), Tim Pollock (Penn State),
Violina Rindova (Texas-Austin), Gerry Sanders (BYU), and Maurizio Zollo
    (Bocconi).

The workshop will be held at the 2008 AOM meeting on Saturday, AUG 9 from
6:00-9:00 p.m. The workshop begins at the Anaheim Convention Center and
will continue over dinner at a nearby restaurant, with the BPS Division
having generously offered to pick up the tab.
