Partnering with the International Management Division
for Professional Development Workshops for AoM 2006
Partnering with several divisions is a way to maximise
exposure of your PDW and use of the PDW time budgets
allocated to each AoM division.
The International Management Division (IM) is
dedicated to research and teaching pertaining to the
theory and practice of cross-border and cross-cultural
management. The goal of the Professional Development
Workshops (PDW) is to provide a forum for effective
exchange and collective learning that would enhance
further the professional skills of our members.
With this in mind, we invite submissions for
innovative, exciting, interactive, and high-impact
pre-conference initiatives related to teaching (e.g.,
new topics in IM, innovative teaching methods) and
research (e.g., mew research methodologies, research
development of junior members). Given the unique
multi- and inter-disciplinary nature of our field, we
encourage joint proposals with other Academy divisions
as well as with groups outside our normal mainstream,
such as corporations, consultancies, NGOs and public
sector organizations. In the spirit of continuous
internationalization of our own membership, we welcome
submissions from colleagues from outside North America
and from international teams, in particular.
The proposal submission form can be downloaded from
the 2006 Academys annual meeting website,
http://meetings.aomonline.org/2006. Completed forms
should be e-mailed to PDW chair Tatiana Kostova at
imdpdw@moore.sc.edu. Deadline for submission is
November 10, 2005, however, you are welcome to contact
Tatiana Kostova anytime after October 1, to express an
interest or informally discuss your proposal. Note
that there is limited space on the PDW program and we
cannot guarantee that all proposals will be accepted.
Some IM division PDWs, such as the Doctoral Student
and Junior Faculty consortia are planned well in
advance and take priority in scheduling. All PDW
participants must commit to participation in advance
by signing a consent form. Please visit our website
at
http://divisions.aomonline.org/im/ to learn more
about the IM Division.
