In 2015, the Entrepreneurship Division of the Academy of Management will offer the prestigious NFIB Doctoral Dissertation Award, which includes a focus on Family Business. The award is open to authors who in calendar year 2014 completed all requirements for their doctoral degree, and it carries a cash prize of $2,500. Sponsored by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) Research Foundation, this award honors outstanding doctoral research that deals with the founding, financing, marketing, growth, and development of independent small businesses, family businesses, and minority businesses. Eligibility for the award in a given year is open to those individuals who completed all the requirements for a doctoral degree (excepting ceremonies) in the prior year. Nominations, including self-nominations, are solicited from Division members, and adjudication is coordinated by the ENT Division Chair-Elect with the aid of a committee of accomplished scholars appointed for this purpose.
