EPIC 2017 in Montréal, 22-25 October 2017, Proposal Deadline 31 March 2017
Rita Denny and I are co-chairs of the EPIC2017 conference in Montréal. For those of you less familiar with EPIC, it is the premier international gathering on ethnography and design in the business world. Our diverse attendees come from every industry, including Fortune-500 companies, the world's top technology firms, management consultancies and design studios, universities and NGOs, public policy organizations and think tanks.
This year's conference will explore the impact of vantage points in ethnographic work and will urge us to consider other sight lines in the construction of our practices. Vantage points both inform and constrain. What comes of widening or narrowing scope? Acknowledging our own footfalls? Shifting positions? Finding muses elsewhere? Integrating traditions from other fields? Forming hybridities? Subverting norms? Our explorations will be deep, serious, humorous, intellectual, somatic, creative, practical, and symbolic.
We hope you will consider submitting a proposal for a paper, case study, Pecha Kucha, or Film/Animation! Proposals due by March 31. If you are compelled by a colleague's work, please pass the call for participation on!
