| Many of us, especially as we pass beyond the tenure hurdle, are searching for ways to create impact. While we may believe that to have impact is very important and should, in fact, guide our research program, what we mean by impact may still be hard for us to define and enact. This PDW, therefore, is intended to bring established scholars together to examine some of the key ideas that relate to research impact such as: 1. What does it mean for us as academics to have impact? Who do we mean have impact upon? 2. What are the attributes of research with impact? How can we design research to have impact? Design Outcomes for the workshop: - I have clarity on what impact" means. The What, Why and How?
- I can formulate my "impact agenda."
- I have a better sense of shaping my "academic" life to a fulfilling life.
- I am more committed to the "impact agenda"
- I have formed relationships that will help me in executing my impact agenda.
