Dear Pavel:
I have developed a survey scale for the ability of a firm to develop new resources/competences, which is one aspect of "how 'good' is the organization in adapating to changing or turbulent environments, compared to its
peers." The measure is not industry specific.
I hope you may find it useful. See
Danneels, Erwin (2008), “Organizational Antecedents of Second-Order Competences,” Strategic Management Journal, 28 (4): 519-543 .
Erwin.

Subject: indicators of organizational adaptability and ability to retain resources
Dear BPS Netters,
I am looking for any research pieces that focus on the measurement of
organizational adaptability - i.e. how 'good' is the organization in
adapating to changing or turbulent environments, compared to its
peers. My purpose is the cross-organizational comparison, preferably
with empirical indicators that are robust across different industries
and institutional settings.
Similarly, I am looking for any publications that have measured the
organizational ability to retain the organization-specific knowledge
and / or any other critical organization-specific resources - also in
comparison with peers.
Thank you for any recommendations,
Pavel Luksha
