To improve lives, we need reliable science. But the social sciences have been caught in a whirlwind of questionable research practices, non-replicable findings, and a flurry of critique. Management researchers, too, have begun a critical self-examination. To assess the situation, we will hear from colleagues who led replications efforts and initiatives at preregistration–preapproval of studies. Prominent researchers will opine and journal editors will report on initiatives considered or implemented in management journals. Members of the audience will chime in with questions and opinions. The workshop aims to spur a discussion on state of research, what has been achieved, what remains to be done — and what should be the new rules of publishing in management research.
