Dear colleagues,
We are asking for your kind help in identifying exceptional students for the PhD program at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, the Netherlands. We offer a variety of opportunities in the broad area of Business Administration, but currently specifically want to draw attention to the option to combine two years of high-class training (at MPhil level) in our Research Master with three years of a (paid) PhD candidate position. The Amsterdam Business Research Institute (ABRI), is looking for potential students who are interested in joining our community per September 2016.
Our two-year, accredited Research Master, that we jointly offer with Amsterdam Business School of University of Amsterdam, named Business in Society, aims to prepare students for a PhD position or a research-related position in the public or private sector such as strategic advisor, researcher, or policy maker. The Research Master is designed to develop the theory-building skills of students besides strong methodological skills issues, useful in subfields such as Strategy, Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, Technology & Innovation, Organization Theory, Marketing, Accounting, or others. It is a competitive and selective program (max. 25 students) to enable individual mentoring by internationally renowned researchers.
Prospective candidates who are interested can read more about eligibility here and can apply for joining the Research Master that prepares them for their PhD here. Students take all the required coursework in the Research Master, in which they also have a lot of tailored options, including internships and assistantships to work with Faculty from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam as well as University of Amsterdam.
Faculty members of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam initiate and contribute to the international debate by publishing in and serving the editorial board of leading research journals, including Academy of Management Journal, Academy of Management Review, Organization Science, MIS Quarterly, Journal of Management, Journal of Marketing Research, Management Science, Strategic Management Journal.
We offer various types of scholarships for students of the Research Master, and its graduates typically have a better position to apply for the fully paid PhD candidate positions at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam –as well as University of Amsterdam- afterwards (these positions are only available to graduates from MPhil or Research Master programs). The deadline for the Research Master enrollment is 1 April 2016, but scholarships applications already close 1 February 2016!
