Smith School of Business, University of Maryland at College Park, has an opening (position #120486) for a tenure track faculty member in business economics / strategy at the assistant or associate professor level to begin in August 2015.
Current faculty members in business economics (which resides within the LBPP department) include Wilbur Chung, Cristian Dezso, Curt Grimm, Rachelle Sampson, Bob Windle, Peter Morici and Bennet Zelner. The business economics faculty have strong ties to strategy faculty in other departments, including Rajshree Agarwal, Brent Goldfarb, David Kirsch and Dave Waguespack. Current business economics faculty research topics include environmental sustainability and firm strategy, firm location strategy, comparative capitalist systems and corporate governance, the effects of renewable energy policies on innovation, formal modelling in strategy, and the impact of managers on corporate policies and performance.
The University of Maryland is located in the greater Washington-Baltimore metropolitan area. The College Park campus is located nine miles from the U.S. Capitol, with convenient access to downtown DC via the Washington Metro subway system as well and also downtown Baltimore (which is 30 miles away).
