    UNITED STATES AIR FORCE ACADEMY

    ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITION IN MANAGEMENT (#09-36M)

     

    The Department of Management at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) in Colorado Springs, Colorado anticipates hiring a full-time Assistant Professor, beginning July 6, 2009, to teach in our business management department.  This appointment will be for an initial length of approximately one year, terminating on 31 May 2010.  The possibility exists for one or two one-year extensions based on receipt of external funding up to a total of three years.  The ideal candidate will have an established record of research and teaching excellence in organizational management.  

     

    The USAF Academy is an undergraduate institution that awards a Bachelor of Science degree to its graduates as part of the mission to educate, train, and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead the United States Air Force in service to our nation.  We invite applicants who are excited to inspire and mentor this country's future leaders both in and out of the classroom. The Academy faculty is an integrated group of both military and civilian educators.  The student body consists of approximately 4000 men and women from every state and several foreign countries.  The Academy curriculum includes a core of academic and professional courses, 28 disciplinary and interdisciplinary majors, and 4 divisional majors.  Essential qualities expected of every faculty member include the personal attributes of integrity, industry, cooperation, initiative, and breadth of intellectual interests.  

     

    Requirements:  An earned doctorate in Business, Management or a relevant field is required with preference given to AACSB or equivalent accredited degrees.  Preference will be given to candidates who possess an established record of excellence in teaching, research, and experience with academic and government organizations.  The selected candidate will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.   

     

    Salary:  Salary is based on a 12-month work year.
