    Visiting Assistant Professor of Management

     

    The School of Business Administration at Oakland University is recruiting a faculty member to teach strategic management courses at the Graduate and Undergraduate levels during the 2010 -2011 academic year.  This position is a Visiting Assistant Professor position.  The candidate's primary teaching will be focused in the area of strategic management for undergraduate and MBA students over fall and winter semesters at Oakland University and branch campuses (Macomb, Birmingham).  Candidates should also be comfortable teaching Introduction to Business courses.  The teaching load for the position is six courses.  The position is funded and may convert to a tenure track position for qualified candidates.

With a population of 75,000 residents and the characteristics of a small town, Rochester provides an excellent family environment. The Detroit metropolitan area has a population of over 3,000,000 residents and offers a wide diversity of cultural, sports and entertainment activities.

     Required Qualifications: 

     

    • Candidates must either possess a Ph.D. in strategic management or international strategy or be a Ph.D. candidate with an anticipated graduation date no later than August 2011, from an accredited AACSB International school
    • We are particularly interested in individuals who can teach strategy (both graduate and undergraduate) and international business (both graduate and undergraduate)
    • Evidence of teaching effectiveness through evaluations and evidence of achievement in scholarship such as presentations at scholarly conferences and/or journal publications

     

    Desired Characteristics/Qualifications:

     

    • Evidence of creative and innovative teaching methods

    • Potential for successful interactions with the business community

    • Evidence of MBA teaching experience
    • Evidence of clearly developed research track in Strategic Management

    Deadline:  April 30, 2010; if not filled, the 30th of each month thereafter until the search is closed.
